Helen & Tony are pleased to have two very talented chefs in their team. Head Chef Graham (Shrek) Bottomley who has been with us since 2012 and David Julyan who started in 2016. They make a very good team working alongside each other in our busy kitchen. Not only do they work hard but the pair of them have a great sense of humour, always joking and laughing whilst they work.
We like to use local people wherever possible such as G. O’Brien Butchers in Dover and Bartlett & White Greengrocers in Deal. Our Fish is from Aldington Finest Foods in Aldington, Kent.
Our chefs take time to think of different delicious meals for the Specials Board that are affordable, we have the unusual like Crocodile or Kangaroo along with the traditional such as Cod & Chips or our well-known pie, chips and gravy
The dessert board will take your breath away, all homemade, as all our food is. We are renowned for our Cheesecakes which they do in so many different flavours each time you come it will probably be different. There is always a selection to choose from such as Bread & Butter Pudding, Key Lime Pie or a Chocolate torte for instance.
Not only do they take care of the food in the pub but they also do all the food for our wedding venue. Even when we have a wedding the pub is still open as usual and the 2 of them along with their team of kitchen staff do a wonderful job of keeping everyone fed and happy, serving up piping hot delicious food.
One of the perks of owning your own restaurant is that you get to try all this lovely food.
